16 months after the Democracy in Europe Movement 2025 was founded by the former finance minister of Greece Yanis Varoufakis and philosopher and activist Srećko Horvat, a socio-economic plan called the European New Deal was presented today on 25th of May 2017 at the Volksbühne in Berlin.

Press Conference of DiEM25 & Yanis Varoufakis – Berlin

On the 25th of May 2017 at 10 am the Democracy in Europe Movement 2025 held a press conference at the Volksbühne in Berlin. Represented by Yanis Varoufakis and Srećko Horvat, DiEM25 pesented the European New Deal, a socio-economic policy agenda aimed at addressing the economic and social problems facing the European Union.

Rainer Mausfeld: How opinion is influenced in a Democracy – VIDEO

In diesem Video erklärt Rainer Mausfeld, Professor für Allgemeine Psychologie an der Christian-Albrechts-Universität Kiel, wie die Demokratie durch Meinungsmanagement gesteuert wird. Dabei spannt er einen Bogen, beginnend vor rund 200 Jahren bis in die Gegenwart. Im Anschluss an seinen Vortrag beantwortet Mausfeld eine Reihe von Publikumsfragen.

REWIND: Video Series with Glenn Greenwald – The Case of Edward Snowden

In this video series we interview journalist and author Glenn Greenwald. In June 2013 Greenwald became widely known after The Guardian published the first of a series of reports detailing United States and British global surveillance programs, based on classified documents disclosed by Edward Snowden. The series on which Greenwald worked along with others won the 2014 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service.

Global Climate March – A Demonstration in Munich for Enviornmental Protection

Am 06. Mai 2017 organisierte ein Bündnis aus verschiedenen Klimagruppen eine Demonstration in München unter dem Motto „Global Climate March – Von München soll kein Schaden ausgehen“, für den Klimaschutz. Zusätzlich war es den Demonstranten ein Anliegen, sowohl für Umweltbewusstsein, als auch für nachhaltigen Konsum- und Produktionsformen zu werben. Ein besonderer Fokus wurde dabei auf die Abschaffung der Kohleenergie gelegt.
