Assange update: New Audio Recording exposes weak US case
In this video, we discuss the latest on the US appeal in the Julian Assange case. On August 11, 2021, during a preliminary appeal hearing, two UK high court judges reversed a previous decision limiting the US government’s permission to appeal Judge Vanessa Baraitser’s January 4 ruling. The Crown, representing the US government, now has full permission to appeal the decision including on the factual findings.
In addition, newly released audio recordings of the prosecution’s key witness Siggi Thordarson provide further evidence of corruption surrounding the case.
