In this video we interview independent journalist and head of investigations of Declassified UK, Matt Kennard. Kennard discusses his impression of Julian Assange’s extradition hearings and the strict measures placed on those attending via the public gallery. Kennard, who has conducted several investigations into the conflicts of interest in the case as well as the legal irregularities, discusses his own work. This video was originally produced and released on the 25th of September 2020 when acTVism Munich travelled to London to cover the proceedings of the Assange case.

Matt Kennard is an investigative journalist and co-founder of Declassified. He was previously director of the Centre for Investigative Journalism in London, and before that a reporter for the Financial Times in the US and UK. He is the author of two books, Irregular Army and The Racket. Mark Curtis is a leading UK foreign policy analyst and journalist and the author of six books including Web of Deceit: Britain’s Real Role in the World and Secret Affairs: Britain’s Collusion with Radical Islam.
