On September 6, 2024, an Israeli sniper shot in the head and killed 26-year old Aysenur Ezgi Eygi. Aysenur was a citizen of both the United States and Turkey. Israel’s military murdered her while she was protesting peacefully in the occupied West Bank against Israel’s illegal occupation and settlements.

When news of the killing broke, U.S. State Department spokesperson Mathew Miller claimed that “We have no higher priority than the safety and security of American citizens.”

Dimitri Lascaris argues that the historical record leads to a dramatically different conclusion: as far as Israel is concerned, the U.S. government’s lowest priority is protecting its own citizens. De facto, the U.S. has granted to Israel a license to kill Americans.

This video was produced by Dimitri Lascaris and published on their YouTube channel on the 10th of September, 2024.
