Press Conference of DiEM25 & Yanis Varoufakis – Berlin
On the 25th of May 2017 at 10 am the Democracy in Europe Movement 2025 held a press conference at the Volksbühne in Berlin. Represented by Yanis Varoufakis and Srećko Horvat, DiEM25 presented the European New Deal, a socio-economic policy agenda aimed at addressing the economic and social problems facing the European Union.
DiEM25 members and activists from all around Europe will hold various panels and workshops throughout the day which we will document in a report that will be published on our YouTube channel in German & English later today.
Lastly, the main event of today will begin at 8pm on the Volksbühne theatre’s main stage. Speakers will include various members of DiEM25’s advisory panel and coordinating collective, like Saskia Sassen, Katja Kipping, Noam Chomsky, Renata Ávila and Ken Loach. Also, British Labour MP, Clive Lewis and Ecuador’s outgoing Foreign Minister, Guillaume Long are among the event’s guest participants. acTVism Munich will embed the Volksbühne live-stream on its website.
